Help! - Help Yourself To The Music Of The Beatles
67Music? Yes! It Certainly Is! It's Beatles Music!
Help! - There is a new bug around! Highly infectious too! Infects teenagers, and like a plague it does, and causes irrevocable damage to the minds of youth.
The bug is a multiple of four. The infection creates an ailment called Beatlemania. The symptoms are frightening.
Affects male teenagers with more venom. One of the symptoms displayed by the male victim is the refusal to visit the barber salon as often as the schedule required.
Other symptoms include changes in clothing styles which included footwear then referred to as Beatle Boots.
Help! - Another music revolution is around the corner, threatening to wipe out the music of a previous era completely!
Entertainment? - The Beatles Arrive - Help!
Help! - Parents were in trouble. They knew not any methods of immunizing.
No remedy was available, and nothing was in sight.
If not infected today, tomorrow is a threat. The infection sets in slowly.
The first real signals were the acceptance of a strange type of music.
The virus is transmitted via the music mediums like the radio and access to vinyl records.
The radio could be destroyed and access to records also could be denied.
However, access to the source of infection cannot be totally denied.
That's how the minds of the big 'uns were working.
Help! - Parents of teenagers viewed the Beatles as a threat to corrupt the youth of that time.
Restrictions were imposed on teenagers everywhere, and in certain circles, I was told that when someone had a son sporting a Beatles haircut, that family was even scoffed at!
Geez the distant past was not all that good! There were many obstacles to kick. The big 'uns consider every new trend as a revolution. That's the way it has been.
It Was Then The Lyrics Of Their Songs - Switch On The Radio!
Help! - That was the title of the first Beatles' movie I saw. That was the first time I saw the four of them move.
Previously it was just pictures in the newspapers and pictures in magazines that guys in class bring along.
Now it was thrilling indeed to see John, Paul, George and Ringo in action ... on a screen of course.
Help! - No thanks, I don't need any! The clean looking musical band from the city of Liverpool made a big splash all over the world with a hit single entitled "Please Please Me."
Just prior to this they had made public appearances as a band and made waves in all directions as a result of a revolutionary hair style which they pioneered. The mop top four is what they were getting called. A "bad influence" indeed!
Beatles Songs - Every Single Song ... Beatles Pictures Too, Everywhere!
Help! - Four very bad boys! The Beatles consisted of four youth who got together in 1963 and formed a musical band.
Beatles pictures appeared all over, in journals, on the walls of homes, in the newspapers, even pasted on the walls of public transport systems by eager fans!
In the later stages they adopted a new hair style which caught on all over the world and the most daring of the youth of that day copied.
Although this could not be done overnight, as some time was needed for the hair to grow, the youth who were impressed with the music sought to imitate the makers.
Eventually the Beatles' hair style was born. Many other fashion accessories followed.
One of them was the Beatle Boots. These were forbidden as the main programmers of this trend themselves were frowned upon by elders.
Parents did everything to stop their children from listening to Beatles music as they were of the opinion that this unusual excess of hair sported by males was dangerous.
There were many amusing incidents when children referred to history books and pointed out various characters who sported long hair and on occasions even referred to JESUS himself.
Vinyl Records ... Beatles Albums ... Nothing Less ... It's The Music That Matters!
Help! - Record shop owners need more storage space! The main display counters of all the record stores in town were full of advertising material associated with the music of the Beatles, along with posters and clippings from various magazines that referred to them.
Out of all the vinyl records that were imported by these stores, the stuff that had the greatest demand and what got sold within a very short period of time were of course Beatles albums. EPs and singles recorded by them were not spared either.
Record sleeves of their LP albums that were available for sale were put up at eye level all over the walls of these music stores.
One guy who owned a record store even had a notice board on to which he used to pin newspaper articles which featured the band.
Innovative indeed, especially in that era when photo-copiers, computers and printers were not even heard of.

To Be Rescued From What?
Well, you really never needed to be rescued from anything that had anything to do with the Beatles! How cautious the big 'uns have been!
When you look back, the only way one is able to describe them were as four clean boys from Liverpool who made attractive music.
Attractive music indeed! From the list of Beatles tracks, I would select the track "Penny Lane" as their best. "I Feel Fine" was very close.
Then comes "The Ballad of John and Yoko" and "Get Back." Most of their tracks were excellent and very much listenable today and forever.
In the early hours of the morning the best track to listen to while seated at my desk waiting for the first rays of the sun to show up is ... guess? That's right, it's "Here Comes The Sun."
Ironically I was an ardent fan of the Rolling Stones and did not pay any serious attention to the Beatles at that time.
The Beatles music takes some time to set in and of course many people of that era who rejected the Beatles and their music are now very much supportive of the Beatles and the fabulous music that they produced!
Whatever changes that may take place in the music scene, the music of the sixties and the seventies will always come out on top in the end.
Known as the mop topped four and also as the fabulous four, the music of the Beatles will always remain listenable. I said ALWAYS!
Help! - Help your ears to the great music on this hub! After all it's the music that matters more than the makers, it it or is it not?

Great band and great music.
You seem to be writing about my past, these days! I still have first time around original vinyls from Strawberry Fields right through to Let it be. I never saw them live, but I did help to record McCartney & Wings in a BBC session, after the split up.
Thanks for the morning tunes and the memories. Geez I forgot about those beatle boots, I had to laugh! I don't recall my parents ever telling me not to listen to the Beatles. I think they may have liked them too, although I don't think they'd admit it! I still have all my vinyls and record player too. Now you've got me wanting to browse through them today! Help!
another good hub
A wonderful trip down memory lane! My husband jealously guards all his vinyls especially the Beatles' ones - he's so proud he's got all their music!
Great hub quicksand - took me back :)
I keep a collection as well...gr8 hub though
you just reminded me of them..
been days since I listened 2 beatles..
I love this Hub! One big new thing about the Beatles is that they were one of the first Pop bands who wrote their own material. This started the whole singer/songwriter era. Elvis, Frank Sinatra, et al used professional songwriters. Somehow we felt closer to artists who were singing their own words.
Excellent Hub. I was a kid growing up when the Beatles came to the US. I remember the fascination I had with the first two songs I heard by them, "I Want to Hold Your Hand" and "She Loves You". Today they seem like very simple songs, but at that time, the melodies mixed with electric guitar and drums were sort of unique. Many of their early recordings were the metamorphisis of the sounds of Chuck Berry and Little Richard, who Paul and John, listened to religously. I guess the one thing that drew me in to their music was that any time they put out something new, it was different. Their music constantly changed and represented a wide spectrum of musical niches.
LOL Yes I do remember the Monkees Quicksand. They had a bunch of great sounding hits like 'Pleasant Valley Sunday', 'Auntie's Municipal Court' and 'I'm a Believer'. I Also loved their TV show
I am simply amazed that The Beatles still have the Impact that they do today . I hear kids who were not even close to being born when they broke up who can sing their songs word for word. My Beatles collection Is still one of my most prized posessions . I never cared for their movies much , but their music Is and always will be the first name In rock and roll . And I think along with Sgt Peppers "Revolver " was probably their greatest effort .
Every song on that album Is fantastic ! Thx for the read .
I love this hub, a great tribute to a great band! After four decades we are still enjoying their music and watching their movies, our children do the same, and in another four decades our grandchildren will do the same ... because it was handmade music.
The Beatles are the top dogs. No doubt about it. I still listen to much of their work. I have far too many favorites to list them here. Excellent Hub that I enjoyed very much.
Hey quicksand - Happy New Year! Here's to many more hubs and much fun on HP thru 2010!
quicksand, thanks for a fantastic walk down memory lane. I LOVE the Beatles. Even though i grew up in the Caribbean, my dad was one of the biggest Beatles fan and I believe we still have several boxes of vinyl stored someplace in our home on the island.
I remember hearing Obla di as a preschooler.
Thanks mon.
The first Beatles song I ever heard was "I Want to Hold Your Hand", when I was about 6 or 7, and I was hooked from that moment on! I bought the White Album pressed on white vinyl when it first came out. I watched all the movies! Now my sons have grown up listening to the Beatles too, and they can sing along to "A Day in the Life", "Sargent Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band", and more! I think the Beatles did so much more than just make music. I mean who can ever forget the 'Paul is dead' speculation after he appeared barefoot on the cover of Abby Road? Or 'Bed Peace' when John and Yoko went to bed for the sake of the peace movement? Thank you for writting this article!
I like the song "The Long and Winding Road"! It seemed sad and yet positive. :)
You certainly know your music and good music at that. Sure enjoyed this as I have several of your other hubs I have had the chance to read. You have a great writing style.
Beatles is really one of the famous band if not the famous band in the world of music. How does it feel making money even if two of the members were already dead. They worked their butts off.
Very awesome hub, thanks i enjoyed reading it! I still enjoy listening to their music today has much has i did back then .
Thumbs up!!!

Very nice hub on the Beatles. Although they were the shining group in their time, I never cared for their music or movies…
