Subwoofers And Woofers - Puppies And Dogs
68About Subwoofers! They Are Only Puppies, Man!
So? ... You are a real hi-fi enthusiast and the word subwoofers attracted your attention, right?
You came here hoping to get some tips on how to optimize your speaker system, right?
Sorry to disappoint you. Its time for you to do another Google search, as this is not about stereo speakers at all. It's about puppies.
Yes, puppies. I refer to puppies as sub-woofers.
Anyway I would appreciate if you would stay on and check out this article.
A previous hub of mine entitled "Woof! Woof! Thud! Yelp! Yelp! Yelp!" which to a great extent examined the topic of cruelty to humans, now makes way for some unfinished business.
I would humbly request you to check that one out, if you haven't done so already.

Dogs? Barking Dogs, Yelping Dogs - All Of Them Stray!
Well, this is how it goes. We, right now live in an enclosed area in which there are around fifty houses.
Although the wall right round is somewhat secure, some bricks had given way and the holes have been large enough for some stray dogs to enter our area.
The security guards at the main entrance did their best to get rid of them but over the months these dogs have somehow managed to stay undetected at crucial times, resulting in some sort of a claim for permanent residence.
The consistency in changing of guards also turned this issue in favor of the dogs.
Most of the time they are seen lying around curled up and asleep, very close to the main entrance.
At times they used to walk around the housing scheme rapidly in formation, sometimes in single file and at times in an unruly pattern.
A loud burst of sound from my balcony like a chirp and a whistle and they scatter in all directions. Otherwise, they accelerate towards their destination.
One day we heard some puppies yelping in the vicinity. It was really annoying. They were hidden within the foliage in the rows of trees opposite our house and we never actually saw them.
The yelping was continuous and with every passing hour was getting right on top of our nerves! There was absolutely nothing we could do about it as we could not figure out exactly where they were.
They start around six in the evening and go on until we leave home in the morning. On holidays they yelp full time.
Just To Stretch Myself, No Worries About Dawgs!
Several days passed this way and still the yelping was incessant. One fine Saturday I stepped out of the gate to stretch myself.
My sister had just finished watering the plants both inside our premises and outside.
I often step outside the gate and see if any of the neighbors are around just to exchange pleasantries and also to fill myself in on the latest happenings on our combined effort to keep mosquitoes, polecats, rats, and other undesirable creatures at bay. Stray dogs was also an issue at that time.
There is a grass area outside my home and their borders are populated with some trees, most of the branches of which are low. I have a habit of swinging on them whenever I get close or when I am just around. The stretching does me a lot of good.
Now don't get me wrong. Swinging from branches does not in any way mean that I am un-evolving. I am not! I do not do it by instinct. I do it by plan only. I assure you!
Who Let The Puppies Out?
On this day, having swung a few times from a branch or two, I casually started taking a few steps back home as none of the neighbors were out.
When I was nearly a couple of meters from my gate, just ahead of me, about ten meters away I saw, for the very first time, the puppies that used to yelp.
There were three of them. They too saw me for the first time and came galloping towards me as if GOD had made me appear at that very moment in time just to play host to them.
Within a few nanoseconds I was able to assess what was in store. If these SOBs get used to galloping around my premises or get used to be within close proximity of my residence, it is likely that they could also squeeze their way through the bars of our gate and into our premises and especially so if they get acquainted with me.
Even if I had done nothing and just stood there and ignored them completely they would still consider me as an acquaintance.
And if they had gotten within sniffing distance, that would be enough impetus for them to hang around in the vicinity and even creep through the bars of my gate and enter my premises at times.
Puppy Behaviour And Preventive Measures
Afterwards even in my absence this could happen. Our flowerpots are neatly arranged and even painted often, and the right sprays applied periodically.
If these SOBs find their way in and raise one hind leg, facing away from any flower pot, it would be disastrous.
They say that the smell could attract other dogs and they would do likewise. ... zhytt! ... What do I do? My instinct caused me to grab the hose pipe that was lying just outside our gate.
My sis had just finished watering the plants and the hose was fortunately still alive. She had not switched it off, and all I had to do was press the lever on the nozzle. I aimed right and in one sweep got all three of them!
That was the only thing I could do in a situation like that. I don't like to hurt anything that moves and I don't even like to kick the carcass of a dead creature or even use my feet to move it around.
My action was justifiable indeed as this was purely done in the name of "self defence."
A long series of blood curdling yelps followed and those three sub woofers disappeared. Back to where they came from. Phew! What a relief!
However, several hours later the yelping started again!
Who Let The Dogs Out?
Now, nearly a year has elapsed and they have all "grown-up." They hang around near the entrance and more often are asleep.
From my balcony I have a view of the wash room used by the security guards, neatly hidden away by the foliage around.
A few nights back my sister called out to me from the balcony and alerted me to a situation that was happening below. Three dogs were closing in on a kitten which had trotted into an alley covered by plants just below my balcony.
I immediately made a loud whistling sound and the dogs which were visible to us, and standing on all fours, immediately sat where they were.
But they would not take their eyes off that spot just below my balcony. My sister was undecided as to whether to rush downstairs to rescue the kitten or to wait and watch.
Then all of a sudden we saw one of the guards come out of the wash room and walk away towards the main security post at the entrance.
The dogs immediately got up and followed him back to where they came from. So, that's it, they were tagging along with that security guard. Gratitude for the food that they are provided with! Cool!

Another Observation - Dog Behaviour
Now, let me draw your attention to another dog in the pack. He was there from the time we moved in.
Somewhat good looking, but most of the time curled up.
I often spot him whenever I walk around. I also got used to slowing down when I approach him and almost stopping by him, I used to say out loud, "DOG!"
He then gets up and hurries away to another spot. Probably he's shy!
The pictures on to the right and the two just above are of him. He would not even pose. So shy he is and lethargic too.
He's probably an old dog. That explains his need to sleep often, and also his lack of vigor.
I have named him "Lyentyai."
One Sunday morning, having walked up to the entrance, I was walking back home when suddenly I saw this dude racing out of the first lane, and still running like hell, he curved his way to his favorite spot and stood there shaking himself vigorously.
He was soaking wet! He was indeed shaking himself dry. I never knew he had so much of energy in him!
Amused and wondering how this happened, I walked past him and turned into the first lane.
There she was! ... The young lady who lives in the second house down the first lane. She had brought her car out of the garage and was washing it using a hose pipe.
The hose pipe was in her hand, and on her face, a mischievous smile!
She did not see me approaching. When she did see me, she exploded into laughter! ... So did I! Great chic, she is! ... My pants off to her!
... concluded

Nice article informative and very creatively written…
Nothing worse than dogs out of control but nothing nicer than having a well behaved and friendly pet dog. I guess these are all strays that you could well do without.
Better dogs then wolves, QS (he, he)
I know that barking can be very anoying, but it is also sad story - these are dogs who were left from their owners (or/and their puppies) now they try to find their own way of living - still close to the people, because we domesticated them (and later abandonded them)...They are not ready for wilderness because they are still too bonded to humans...
